Rocks “Raid” Georgetown!
By Mike Costigan --> Team Reporter

The Shamrocks closed out their season series with the Georgetown Raiders with a decisive 6-0 victory at Memorial Arena on Tuesday.  In fact this is the third time in as many games that Hespeler has handed the Raiders a defeat and in doing so have solidified their fourth place position in the Smith Division Standings.

This game was full of positives for the Rocks. After a lengthy spot on the injured list Owen Oliveira returned for his first full game. The team responded by providing strong defensive support to their returning netminder. Solid goaltending, aggressive defensive play and intense puck pursuit in both ends of the rink resulted in the second consecutive shutout over Georgetown. A sustained total team effort saw the Shamrocks score twice in each period putting the game out of reach by the end of the second period.

December has been a good month for the Rocks playing their best hockey of the year, a culmination of the efforts of both the coaching staff and the boys themselves. The Shamrock’s look forward to carrying this momentum into the Hespeler Olympics Tournament over the Christmas Break and their two remaining regular season games. Keep up the hard work boys!
