Rocks Fall Just Short of OMHA Goal....Off to Strong Start in Tri-County!
The Hespeler Major Atom A Shamrocks fell just short of their goal of advancing to the Quarter-Finals of the OMHA Playoffs finishing second in their playdown pool.

Their nemesis as it turned out, proved to be the Owen Sound Jr Attack. Despite out-chancing Owen Sound in both games the Rocks had trouble finding the back of the net and ultimately fell 3-1 in the second-to-last playdown game.

Hespeler showed great character however in their final playdown game easily handling the Dundas Blues 4-1.

Their record as mentioned placed them in second place in their pool and allowed the New Hamburg Huskies, from whom the Rocks took 3 out of a possible 4 points, to advance to the Quarters.

Moving forward the team now has reset their goal to become the Tri-County Champion, and they got off to a great start on Sunday skating to a 6-0 thrashing of the Brampton 45s.
In a game that saw a steady parade of kids to the penalty box, the Rocks were simply too much for Brampton and controlled the game in all three ends of the rink.

A very nice performance turned in by the line of Graem Costigan, Daniel Turco, and Jacob Kirkwood, who were dangerous whenever they stepped onto the ice.
Also, a very steady defensive performance turned in by veterans Brock Ahmet and Justyn Silannpaa-Knox who consistently thwarted the Brampton offensive attack.
And finally, although untested for long stretches of the game, goaltender Karsen Campbell had to be very sharp at times to secure the shutout.

Great all around team effort boys and good luck in the Tri-Counties!!!! We'll still be there every step of the way cheering you on!!!!
