Great Playdown Finish!!!
Perfect way to end the OMHA play downs with a WIN!!!  Our Rocks played to a 3-2 Victory over the New Hamburg Huskies at home.  So close to moving on in the OMHA play downs finishing in third place, just one point shy of second.  While moving out of the bottom spot may have been shocking and frustrating to other teams in the league, to the supporters of the Bantam AE team it’s no surprise.  Watching the amount of hard work and dedication these boys and coaches have put into this team the outcome of this series is exactly what they deserve.

With a regular season record of 1-25-2 moving to a first round play down record of 3-3-2 I am excited to see what record our Shamrocks will achieve in the next round.  They are scoring goals with strong goaltending to back it up.  And even in the last game the power play held some bite with two power play goals being scored which brings me to the scoring summary of last night’s game.
Goal:  Brody H.  Assists:  Carter T. and Andrew C.
Goal:  Brody H.  Assists:  Andrew C. and Brandon W.
Goal:  Ben R.  Assists:  Adam C. and Matt B.

While the win was exciting the Shamrocks must now focus on the game before them against Milton on Friday night.  Milton will come out passing faster, battling for the puck, and hitting harder compared to the New Hamburg team we faced on Wednesday night.  As New Hamburg was playing with three AP’s and had a player on suspension which won’t be the case with the Milton team.  While the New Hamburg game displayed solid game play, (which lead to the win!!!) to bring on a winning streak the game play that was displayed in the previous game against Guelph – the Shamrock A+ game play – must be left out on the ice.  With the Shamrock A+ game and following the below Ten Commandments of hockey, Hespeler will be a force to be reckoned with!

Ten Commandments of Hockey

1.       Thou shalt win thy face-off.

2.       Thou shalt skate hard and keep thy shift short

3.       Thou shalt stay out of the penalty box.

4.       Thou shalt play the body of thy opponent.

5.       Thou shalt forecheck thy opponent.

6.       Thou shalt keep clear the front of thy net.

7.       Thou shalt not make a bad cross ice pass in thy zone.

8.       Thou shalt backcheck thy opponent.

9.       Thou shalt crash the net on each shot.

10.     Thou shalt finish thy check.

With the regular season and first round of play downs finished and the full weight of the season on them I would like to take the time to thank the volunteers who have supported this group of 16 boys this season.  Thank you to our coaches Craig, Paulo, Jeff.  Our Trainers Greg, Pete, Paul.  Mike for organizing the dreaded score keepers schedule!  Tammy for organizing our fundraisers.  To our Hockey Mom Michelle, Team manager Scott, and Social coordinator Geoff!

HUGE thanks to all of you.  I am positive I probably forgot someone just like an Oscar speech!  So let me know so that I can do edit magic and get you the thanks deserved.  The amount of time these parents put in are 99% thankless – at times they have their actions questioned – but they continue putting in the hours.  So to all of you THANK-YOU - THANK-YOU - THANK - YOU!

Shamrocks ... bring that A+ game - follow those commandments!! You got this!

GO ROCKS GO!

Tigercat
Tigercat specializes in the design and manufacturing of premium quality forestry equipment and specialized off-road industrial equipment. Tigercat forestry systems are designed to provide lowest cost per tonne harvesting solutions. Tigercat began in 1992 when a small group of professionals with extensive experience in all facets of the logging equipment industry teamed up with the Cambridge, Ontario based fabrication company, MacDonald Steel. At the time, MacDonald Steel was engaged in the fabrication of components for many well-known mobile equipment manufacturers. However, owner and CEO Ken MacDonald envisioned the creation of a new company that would build upon MacDonald Steel’s fabricating expertise, a company that would design and manufacture purpose-built forestry equipment. With headquarters in Brantford, Ontario, Tigercat operates from eight southern Ontario locations. These facilities house the design and production teams for all Tigercat products as well as steel fabrication, administration, customer service and parts distribution.
