It happened one night............
Major Bantam A 3, Milton Winterhawks 1. It finally came together, and after so many close calls, near misses and victory being snatched away at the hands of defeat, the Major Bantam A Team put together a complete performance in defeating Milton on Sunday night. From goalie Hunter Guttensohn on out, it was some of their best hockey of the season, and a well deserved victory. All the consistent efforts in all the previous games were well noted in many conversations among coaches and parents. In every game (but one, 10 players, cut them some slack) the effort has been consistent and the boys have skated hard from the first drop of the puck to the final whistle. Often the results weren't indicative of the play.

Sunday the bad goal/bounce/penalty that had usually reaed its' ugly head with minutes to play never showed up, and the boys got to enjoy the spoils of their efforts. After Milton opened the scoring (I forget how they scored) a brilliant solo effort by Aaron Nagel tied the score in the second period. A power play goal by Ryan Terry (nice pass Thibs) put the Rocks up by one, then in the third it was "Kitty, bar the door" as the Winterhawks tried in desperation to tie up the score. A late empty netter sealed the Victory (nice pass Thibs?) and the sigh of relief from both the stands and the bench was palpable all the way to Galt! Great job defence, and a real Team effort. Congratulations all around. Now that we've seen how much fun it can be, let's do it again?!!!!
