The Bantam A Shamrocks 18th Teammate
It was with the help of friend and fellow Hespeler Minor Hockey Coach Dave Stephenson, that the Hespeler Bantam A team was put in touch with a long time Hespelerite named Glenn Pascoe.

Glenn is the Executive Director at One4Another International, who devotes his time and energy to a very worthy and much needed cause.

All 17 of the Bantam A Shamrocks have individually raised money in support of their team.  A team which now includes an 18th teammate named James.  James lives in a village in the Bugiri District of Eastern Uganda.  He was born with defects affecting his feet.  A severe right clubfoot and a pronated flat left foot.  The money these boys have raised will pay for James to go through a number of castings and surgeries, resulting in a life changing difference to both James and his family.

James is not able to walk long distances or do physical work, which means he has no chance of moving beyond a life of extreme poverty.  Even socially, kids with neglected clubfeet are excluded in their society and are subjected to discrimination. Our Shamrocks have aimed to prevent this with their commitment to raising funds for their new teammate.

Our team has been able to see James progress through his treatments and just recently we were able to see him receive some Hespeler swag that Glenn was able to personally deliver for us.

We are proud to have James on our team this year, and will continue to watch our Shamrock progress and improve.

In some pictures below you can see Glenn, James and his family, James’ house, and even his dad proudly wearing his sons Hespeler Shamrock Jersey!

Great work Boys!
