Welcome to the 2016-2017 Season
Welcome Back Shamrocks and Welcome to our new Rocks! Hespeler Hockey Turns 80; 50th Year for the Hespeler Olympics, McDonald's AtoMC program, TimBits Sponsorship, Hespeler Skating Club partnership and more...

It’s been a fantastic summer and I’m sure you’ve kept busy with all types of activities along with family vacations etc. and you’re chomping at the bit to begin another exciting year of Shamrock hockey.  Your Executive have been very busy over the summer with the planning of schedules, exciting new programs, stock orders, setting up clinics just to hit some highlights.

Here’s what you can look forward to this season:

Hespeler Minor Hockey will celebrate two milestones with this being our 80th year along with our 50th Olympics Tournament.   Look for more details as we begin the season.

We have restructured our 7 and under age groups as Jr. IP and Sr. IP.  This Initiation Program introduces 4 and 5 year olds to the game of hockey with an emphasis on skating and beginner’s hockey drills.  The enrollment in this program has doubled since announced and we continue to take registrations on a daily basis.  Our 6 and 7 year olds will benefit from continued age appropriate instruction and drills to prepare them for the next level.

In addition, we have also aligned ourselves with Hespeler Skating Club bringing their expertise with skating techniques.  We encourage those that haven’t signed up to do so, it will only benefit the player.

We are pleased that McDonald’s AtoMc program is back for another year and we most certainly welcome Tim Horton’s increased involvement with our IP program.   We value all of our sponsors continued support, it goes a long way.

As we begin our 3rd season affiliation with the Grand River Local League, we will expand our league participation with introducing our Novice age players this year which means we are now offering both resident and non-resident participation from the ages of 4 to 18.  That’s right, you don’t have to live within the boundaries of Hespeler to play in this league.  Read more about Local League in our FAQ section on our website…it is certainly not too late to sign up.

Our rep teams will continue to participate in the Tri-County MHL and you may see some new centres within your divisions and most certainly there will be some continued rivalries.  Good Luck to all our teams.

We are pleased to offer a Juvenile Rep team this year!  We’d like to see those that are age appropriate to continue their hockey with HMHA.  This team will participate in the Beechey Minor Hockey League, we will be a hosting a player identification night on September 8th.

Lastly, announced at the beginning of last season we would be re-branding the entire association within a 2 to 3 year time frame with the initial launch of our Local League teams.  Well, we are pleased to announce that we have delivered on this plan a full year earlier with the transition of the entire association this season!  You’ll love the new look.

Again, welcome back all players, coaches and volunteers and if you aren’t any of these there is still time to become involved.  Enjoy the season!

Go Rocks Go!
