CONGRATS!!
This past weekend, the U16 ALL team travelled to Detroit to participate in the Motown Cup. The tournament contained 5 teams in the U16 division, oddly all 5 teams from Ontario.
After a disappointing, heartbreaking loss to Waterloo 5-4 in the first game of the tournament, the boys showed resilience and brought their best hockey in the next four games.
The round robin results ended in the team’s favour with them making it to the finals on Sunday against Mount Brydges, who they lost a tight game to in the round robin 3-1. The boys came out on fire in the Final and took a 3-0 lead into the third period. They held on after a heavy push by Mount Brydges in the 3rd period for a 3-2 win.
Congratulations boys!! Thank you for your efforts, your belief in each other, and your commitment to our game plans. Our power play and penalty killing were exceptional. This victory is just the beginning and we can’t wait to see where the rest of the season goes from here!
