This week, our U8 MD team wore bright orange jerseys during practice as part of the Orange Jersey Project, showing their support for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.
The Orange Jersey Project encourages hockey teams across the country to learn about the history of Indian Residential Schools and to honour Survivors and their families. By wearing the Every Child Matters jersey, our players joined thousands of young athletes who are using sport as a way to build awareness, respect, and unity.

For our Shamrocks, this was more than just a practice — it was a meaningful way to reflect on the importance of reconciliation and the role we can all play in learning from the past. The orange jerseys serve as a reminder that every child matters, and that sport can be a powerful space for learning, empathy, and community connection.
We’re proud of our U8 MD team for embracing the spirit of reconciliation and for helping to spread awareness through hockey.
