Midget Chip Mentoring Program
Submitted By Paul Allan on Mon 03 25, 13
This weekend saw 11 Midget Travel players on the ice
over the course of Saturday and Sunday to help mentor CHIP age players. Our Midget players demonstrated outstanding examples of
mentoring, leadership and friendship to our CHIP players as this was evident in
their on ice actions.
Andrew Bradley and Brayden Parks fully dressed as Goalie's and played to the chip level..taking lots of shots and allowing the kids tons of scoring.
They had chip players wearing their gloves and blockers and using their sticks....players didn't want to leave the net! A few of the Chips had goalie gear already on and where loving the one-on-one mentoring as well from both guys.
Tosh Noonan and Cameron Tonner were running a teams practice.....showing and demonstrating the drills..totally calling the practice plans while other Midgets were assisting the coach's through there practice plan..
Jonathon Petro was very active and had the full attention of every team he worked with all weekend long. He naturally lead them along through drills and fun play....magentic!
Darren Lynch, Dylan Lee, D. Lawless, Brad Abraham, Carson Gemmell, D. Butler all spread themselves around and assisted teams throughout the weekend in skating, stick and puck handling and sometimes just a helping hand getting someone back on there feet.. Well Done!
The Midgets did a great job this weekend and I believe they learned a few new life lessons in community involvement and spirit. Many of which stepped up and volunteered approx. 6hrs of their weekend to help out.
