Vaughan Silver Stick Champions!
The Atom A Shamrocks won the Vaughan Silver Stick Regional tournament with an impressive 5-0 record. The boys played their best game of the year, shutting out a very good Vaughan Panthers team in the championship game for a four to nothing win! Congratulations Rocks, on a hard fought, well deserved victory.
The boys got things rolling in big way with a 6-0 win over the Humber Valley Sharks in game 1 of the tourney. They then followed up Friday evening with a hard fought 3-2 win over the top ranked Vaughan Rangers. Saturday afternoon the team faltered a bit but still managed to pull out a 4-2 win over the North York Knights.
The three wins sent the Shamrocks through to a Sunday morning semi-final game against Port Credit, in which they potted a late empty netter to seal the 5-3 win. The victory setup a final match up against the unbeaten Vaughan Panthers. Not showing any signs of nervousness the boys dominated the game by skating hard and moving the puck extremely well. The great effort paid off with a 4-0 shut out to win the Silver Stick regional. The Atom A Shamrocks will now move on to the Silver Stick Finals in Sarnia. Way to go boys!
