Our Captain Abu gets his jersey!
I am happy to report that Abu has received his jersey. Glenn and his team from One4Another made the long journey to Abu's home in eastern Uganda and made the special delivery of his jersey and care package. While he was there, Glenn asked Abu's parents how best we could help them with the extra funds the boys raised for Abu. Glenn's team put together the following list of supplies we purchased for Abu's family:
- Food Staples: Posho (maize flour 50KG), rice (50KG), sugar, salt, cooking oil
- Bedding: mattress, blanket, mosquito net
- Cooking: set of cooking pots, soap bars
- Livestock: goat ($75), chickens ($75)
- TOTAL = $500
These items will give the family months worth of food support with the possibility of further income through the goat and chickens. This is huge for a family like Abu's. They would have never experienced something like this and it is the direct result of our players efforts in raising the money themselves. It's what leaders do. Its what Shamrocks do.
Well done boys.
