Silver Sunday
The U12A Hespeler Shamrocks went to London on the weekend to participate in the Dan Pulham Hockey tournament and came back with sweet silver medals.

The team got off to a great start early Friday morning at the tournament by winning their first game 6-0 against Erie North Shore. Tyler Ritchie had a natural hat trick and was awarded player of the game honours.

That afternoon, the Shamrocks fell 5-3 to the Toronto Eagles. The team played well and never gave up. Tristan Craig was awarded player of the game for his strong play.

After a fun night back at the hotel, the Shamrocks battled with the West Niagara Flying aces but came up just short losing 1-0.  Carson took home player of the game honours for his terrific play in net.

Next up would be a rematch with the Flying Aces but this time in the semi-finals. The Shamrocks took an early lead scoring on the first shift. They popped in 2 more in the second period and Brayden Houser made every save for the shut out. He was also awarded player of the game honours for his efforts.

An awesome trip to The Factory on Saturday night was like the cherry on top of a sundae. The kids had a great time bouncing away and hanging out in the arcade.

Everyone was excited for a rematch in the finals against the Toronto Eagles. The game was tight through regulation with each team playing hard. Both teams exchanged scoring chances but the goalies stood tall holding both teams off the score board through regulation.

After a quick time out, 4 on 4 over time started and the Toronto Eagles managed to put one in and claim gold with a 1-0 victory.

I am so proud of this team and and they way they battled to earn their silver medals.
