Saying Goodbye to Coach Lorne
Today is a sad celebration as our team says goodbye to our coach, as he is set to retire from a multiple decades of coaching in our region, from AAA all the way to our u13 Team 1 Hespeler Shamrocks.

Coach Lorne is not only a seasoned hockey coach and player but a beacon of light for his players. He believes in hard work, fair play and respect for your team and others. He encourages the players to leave each place we visit better than we arrived to it. Lorne Green has the uncanny knack for seeing the heart and potential of each player and works tirelessly to find a role where they can shine with their individual and unique skill sets. He is patient but he expects respect on and off the ice. He understands that the core values of team work, honour, hard work and unity are the pillars to turn youth hockey players into the leaders of tomorrow.
I am honored to have met him, overjoyed to be on his bench staff, and delighted to call him friend. But more than anything I am extremely proud of the accomplishments my child has received under his leadership. He will forever be my son’s hero and I know some day when he has a family of his own he will tell stories about the man who shaped his own hockey journey. A man named Lorne Green.
Congratulations on your retirement and incredible journey with hockey, sir!
