U13LL, LL (Hespeler Minor Hockey Association)

On Friday December 12th the Shamrocks took part in the Waterford u13LL Tournament. 

Saturday December 6th our Shamrocks travelled to Woolwich to face off against the Wildcats. The Wildcats jumped to an early lead but our Shamrocks were not rattled, and rallied back eventually finishing the match 7-3. Player of the Game was Oliver, who netted his first goal this season today. Oliver has been stepping up his intensity all season and enjoying his new role as a centreman. Well done Oliver, your team is proud of you! 

Last weekend the Hespeler Shamrocks kicked off their first tournament of the year at home with the Hespeler Classic. The tournament saw the Shamrocks play some of their best full-team hockey of the weekend, even if the scoreboard didn't always show it. We finished with an 0-3 record but more than that strong foundations were laid for the future. Players of Game 1 was Nathan Filipchuck for his whatever it takes attitude and filling in on the blue line. Player of Game 2 was Grant Dahmer for his two-way play. Sunday November 23rd the Shamrocks welcomed Woodstock Jr Navy Vets (Black) into our arena. The game was not the best result for Hespeler falling by a score of 6-0. But with 4 unable to play and some lenient refereeing the game play was not what we are accustom to. However, even during dark days there are spots of brightness. Jase Martin was a bright spot on the evening. He is always dependable and solid on the blue line, but tonight demonstrated his impressive wheels and explosive skating with a fantastic rush and a well needed breath of energy in a flat game. On Saturday November 22nd the Shamrocks welcomed the Woodstock Jr Navy Vets (red) to the Hespeler Arena. The Shamrocks were firing on all cylinders and played as a team the entire game and were rewarded for their efforts with a 3-0 result. Player of the Game was Emmett Martin. Martin was instrumental in the second goal, creating a 2 on 1 for his linemates and had fantastic positional play all evening. Congratulations Emmett! Your team is proud of you!
