Two Big Wins Have Rocks on a Roll!!!
The Hespeler Major Atom A Shamrocks did what they needed to do in defeating both the Burlington Eagles and Guelph Jr Storm on the weekend.

Coming off two ties against Burlington in their previous meetings, the Rocks finally broke through with a convincing 2-0 victory over the Eagles on Saturday December 10th and followed it up the next day with a win over Guelph.

The win against Burlington marked the first time the boys have beaten Eagles in several years much to the dismay of the Burlington fans.
The star of the game in this case was not a player but instead a longtime fan. Mustang-driving; Beer-drinking; exercise-refuting; don't call me "Bob"; and certainly don't make fun of my plans to join a bowling league; former Shamrock parent Bobby Dann stole the show with a brilliant sign aimed at Assistant Coach Matt Vautour.

Vautour whose passion for the game and commitment to the Rocks can never be questioned was unfortunately having trouble with numbers lately causing a few 'Too Many Men' penalties on the Rocks.

To help Vautour, Dann (a very good friend of Matt's) came up with a sign that definitely helped the Rocks and most importantly helped Vautour. The sign read as follows...

HEY MATT,
3- Forwards
2- Defence
1- Goalie

Brilliant insight!!! And NO "Too Many Men" penalites whatsoever since the creation of the sign!!!! Thanks Bobby...well done!!!

As for the game on Sunday against Guelph, I honestly don't remember the score....I think it was 6-3 but I may be off.
Regardless, the boys beat a team that they needed to beat.

For a post-game interview, I tried to get a few words out of Nick Billeci's younger brother Marcus Billeci.

I asked Marcus if he watched his brother play? Marcus said "no".
I asked Marcus if he ever watched his brother play? Marcus said "no".
I asked Marcus if he likes his brother? Marcus said "no".

At that point I then decided to call him "Mucus" and pull his hood over his head and begin punching him in the ribs.
During this exchange, Mucus' father Vince Billeci looked on....and laughed.

Ah Hespeler parents....we may not be the most refined but there's not too many that have more fun than us!!!

The Rocks next game is Saturday December 17th at 630pm in Georgetown.
