Rocks Tie Opening Playoff Game vs New Hamburg
The Major Atom A Shamrocks opened their 2013 Playdown schedule with a 0-0 overtime tie against the New Hamburg Huskies. The game saw chances at both ends of the rink with both goalies making key saves throughout the affair.

The Rocks applied all kinds of pressure late in the game looking for the winning goal but simply could not find the back of the net.
And at the other end, veteran goalie Karsen Campbell looked cool and poised all night making several difficult saves look routine.

The game was an absolute thriller. The Shamrocks looked to have won it in overtime with a mad goal-mouth scramble that looked certain to end with a goal. Unfortunately somehow the puck was covered by the New Hamburg netminder keeping the score knotted at zero.

After the game, Team Reporter looked to several players to get their thoughts on the game but several had to get home to go to bed.
Fortunately defenceman Justyn Sillanpaa-Knox was available to give his insight.
When asked what Coach Terry said to the team after the tie, JSK responded "he said we played ok".
When asked what the Shamrocks needed to do in the next game, JSK responded "play harder".
When asked who is the best Hockey Mom in the world, JSK responed "my mom!"
And when asked who on the team has the smelliest farts, JSK told the world it was "xxxx xxxxx"*

*Editor's note: player's identity shall remain nameless...it's 'dressing-room code'.

The Rocks next take the team bus to Owen Sound to play on Sunday at 230pm!!! Team Reporter can't make it but I look forward to getting a recap!!!

Go Rocks!
