Playoff Run Comes to an End
The Shamrocks left it all out on the ice but fell short with a 2-1 loss to the Woolwich Wildcats. But hold those chins up high as the Hespeler Shamrocks are Tri-County Minor Hockey Peewee AE Finalist.
The Rocks did not make it an easy win but just couldn't seem to get the shots off and find a way into the Woolwich net. Down 2-0 in the third with just minutes left in the game Dean C. hit the sweet spot making the score 2-1 breathing new life into the Rocks but there just wasn't enough time left on the scoreboard to even up the game.
The championship round didn't end with us #1 on paper but remember we knocked the Wildcats out of play not once but twice leading up to this final round!!!
WHAT A SEASON ROCKS!!!
33-22-3 HOLY BEANS! What a stellar record! A group of boys was transformed into a team. A team that achieved greatness.
Since I already have you reading this final article I would like to thank the coaches, trainers, manager, and all parent volunteers for their time and dedication to our team; you were vital in the success our Rocks achieved! So a HUGE THANK-YOU!
Also I would like to thank those who took the time to read the updates posted here after each game. It was a lot of fun to keep everyone near and far updated on the games. So Rocks remember to keep shooting where they keep the peanut butter and to always have fun ... that's what hockey is all about!
