Shamrocks starting to hit their stride!
The “Mighty Mighty Shamrocks” improved their record to 3-3 with a 6-1 victory over a physical Dundas Blues team.
Continued improvement in their skating and passing saw the Shamrock’s get off to a quick start, pressuring Dundas for most of the first period. The hard work finally paid off with a Hespeler goal being scored with only 9 seconds left in the period. That seem to ignite the Shamrock’s as they scored 3 times in the second to take a 4-1 lead.
The Blues’, frustrated with being outplayed, began to get physical taking some undisciplined penalties and while the Rock’s were unable to capitalize on the power play they stayed disciplined not retaliating to the physicality of the Dundas Blues.
Defensively, the Shamrock’s were solid. The ability to keep the Blues to the outside and a solid back check from the forwards minimized the shots on net and any scoring chances that Dundas had. Two more tallies in the third solidified the victory!
